Aristotle discusses virtue in two layers: epistemological and ontological. His main concern is ontology, in other words, the formation of virtue and the virtuousness of man. Of course, this does not mean that the epistemological layer, that is, the definition and nature of virtue, is not examined. In Aristotle's view, virtue is a state that makes a choice, but this choice itself is composed of desire and reflection. This research attempts to examine the nature of choice from an analytical perspective and discuss the relationship between its components, namely desire and reflection, in terms of precedence and causality over the other. On the other hand, the discussion of virtue is tied to the theory of moderation. This theory has been criticized from various aspects. In this research, an attempt has been made to defend the theory of moderation with the version that is presented, in addition to preserving the appearance of Aristotle's text, which, in addition to responding to the criticism of linguistic metaphor and practical uselessness, also combines a quantitative and qualitative version of it.
