The question of how to understand the relationship between man and existence is an important question that can be used to interrogate two non-metaphysical thinkers, namely Heidegger and Ibn ʿʿArabi. In response to the understanding of the relationship between man and existence in his later thought, Heidegger resorts to the concept of “event of appropriation”, which is the central concept of his later thought. The relationship between man and existence and how to understand existence in its historical context is determined by the event. In this study, the researcher has tried to investigate the relationship between the "event in the late Heidegger" and the "manifestation according to Ibn ʿArabi" in response to the question of the relationship between man and existence. Using the method of proportional similarity, it can be acknowledged that the two concepts of event and manifestation have a significant affinity with each other and there are similar basic components in them. Accordingly, the author argues that there is a proportional similarity between the "event of appropriation" and the "specific manifestation of existence," and it is possible to demonstrate prerequisites of dialogue between the two thinkers, such as the possibility of non-conceptual thinking in the realm of presence, the experience of closeness to existence, and the possibility of historical understanding of existence based on the aforementioned two concepts. With these possibilities, one can open the door for dialogue between two thinkers from different traditions and pursue a common horizon regarding thought directed towards existence.
