Examining the Problem of Evil in Berkeley's Thought is a complex yet fundamental topic. The lack of clarity and the dispersion in the definition and application of the concept of evil, along with the differences in various narratives and interpretations, has led to ambiguity in understanding Berkeley's thought. This article employs an analytical-descriptive method and relies on Berkeley's ontological principles to carefully examine his responses to the problem of evil. In his effort to provide a distinctive reading of the problem, Berkeley interprets evil not as an independent truth, but as derived from a type of human evaluative judgment. This interpretation of evil, grounded in his ontological foundations, reflects a narrow-minded perspective influenced by human limitations. Berkeley considers the attribution of evil to individuals and actions as a result of humanity's deficient understanding of truth, stemming from mental limitations. Accordingly, nature, in its essence and foundation, is free from malevolent characteristics. This article aims to demonstrate how Berkeley, by utilizing the principles of his idealism, explains the problem of evil and what solutions he offers for the common contradictions found in religious and philosophical thought.
